No. Speech becomes text on your machine, on the neural engine. Audio is never uploaded and never stored, not even briefly.

Dictation works with no connection at all. Shaping raw speech into polished prose uses a short text-only request, so on a plane you get accurate raw text and shaping resumes when you land.

No. There is no sign-up, no profile, and no history synced anywhere. Your licence key is the only thing tied to you.

Murmur needs Accessibility permission to type on your behalf. Open System Settings, Privacy & Security, Accessibility, and switch Murmur on. Quitting and reopening the app applies it immediately.

Start speaking a beat after the key goes down, or lengthen the grace period in Settings. Murmur keeps a short rolling buffer, but a very fast start can outrun it.

Murmur follows the system input device. Change it in Sound settings, or pin a specific microphone in Murmur's Settings so AirPods connecting mid-sentence cannot hijack it.
